Winter Maintenance Items

As we transition to the offseason, my staff and I can shift away from regular maintenance, and will begin working on some projects to improve the course.

Tree work in some form will always be on our winter project list.

These 2  on the right of # are dead/dying and will be removed

There are some others, but most of the dead or dying ash trees have been removed, catching us up for the time being.  Stumps will be ground by an outside contractor.

Our full-time staff are still all in their first season, so they are performing many of these tasks for the first time.  Just like in the summer, there are many hours spent on training and safety, especially in regards to tree work.

In addition to the trees, we will be renovating some of the brick pads that the tee benches rest on also this winter.  Many of them have become uneven over the years. Gaps between the bricks can allow weeds to grow.  The wet areas behind #8 green, and in the gully of #15 fairway should be improved this winter as well.

See you out there!

Chad
